If you are interested in owning a Bullmastiff, we hope that you will take
the time to read up on them, and familiarize yourself with the breed before
making a purchase of a puppy.
The typical life span of a Bullmastiff is 10 years, and should you choose
to make one a part of your family you should not make this decision lightly,
as you will be responsible for this dog for at least that long.
Whether you are interested in a puppy for a family pet, or a show prospect
you need to familiarize yourself with the breed and with a breeder you
are comfortable with; then wait for that special puppy. DO NOT purchase
the first puppy you see, and NEVER purchase any puppy from a pet store.
A Bullmastiff makes a wonderful family dog, but they do need obedience
training and socialization. They are very intelligent, loving, and
can be stubborn at times. Plan on taking the time to do some obedience
training for you and your Bullmastiff. If you are not willing to
obedience train and socialize your puppy, a Bullmastiff in NOT the dog
for you. Remember, a bullmastiff is a working guard breed and with
that comes a big responsibility for a prospective owner.
